September 16 is a Mexican National Party Day because we celebrate our Independence Day. In this Photosynth we give you a glimpse of The Angel of Independence (“El Ángel de la Independencia”), most commonly known as “El Ángel”, which is a victory column located over Paseo de la Reforma in Mexico City.
According to Wikipedia;
El Ángel was built to commemorate the centennial of the beginning of Mexico’s War of Independence, celebrated in 1910. In later years it was made into a mausoleum for the most important heroes of that war. It is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Mexico City, and it has become a focal point for both celebration and protest. [more]
This Photosynth is very special for me because of the effort Sofia, Eduardo Rosas (mutual friend), and me put in producing it. First you can see that you begin from the exterior of the base of the column. Then, just in front of the Angel you can get closer and closer and suddenly you can start looking to the street from the inside of the square.
