The Shroud of Turin (or Turin Shroud) is a linen cloth bearing the image of a man who appears to have suffered physical trauma in a manner consistent with crucifixion. It is kept in the royal chapel of the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist in Turin, northern Italy. The origins of the shroud and its image are the subject of intense debate among scientists, theologians, historians and researchers. – Wikipedia
On April 10, 2010, the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist in Turin (also known as the Domo of Turin) began what in Italian is know as or Solemn Exposition of the Shroud. People from all around the world will have the opportunity to see in person the Shroud for the first time since the year 2000. The exposition to the public will remain open until May 23, 2010.
There is a great discussion on religious and scientific fields. Both try to show the veracity of the Shroud. Many studies have been conducted on the Shroud and not yet able to determine with accuracy if the image of men over the cloth is actually the image of Jesus Christ. We do not stand for any particular position though.
Sofia, Leo and I had the opportunity to visit the Domo of Turin and see the Shroud by ourselves. During our visit I shot a couple of videos and from those videos I extracted the following snapshots.

Yo no le encuentro ninguna forma al sudario :S cada negativa se me deformaba más!!! quizas falta que me hagan notar alguna forma. Pero cool la visita y los videos.

Si es un poco difícil de distinguir la figura sobre todo por que la tela tiene muchas 'distracciones' al momento de aplicar los efectos. Ejemplo, la tela sufrió un accidente en un incendio y resultó quedama (parcialmente destruída), el resultado son esos pedazos en forma de rombo que se notan sobre la tela … en realidad son espacios vacíos, huecos. Solo basta mirar con detalle sobre la tela, el cuerpo está horizontalmente, del lado izquierdo se muestra el frente y del lado derecho el revés.

Hay un libro muy interesante que trata este tema: “La ciudad de los herejes” de Federico Andahazi. Este escritor en casi todos sus libros demuestra haber hecho una importante investigación histórica a la que le aporta su imaginación para convertirla asi en una novela. Pero creo que muchos de los datos que da en el libro pueden ser reales, como que la tela utilizada para el sudario en forma de espiga tiene una manufactura que no se utilizaba en la epoca de cristo, sino mucho despues y también en relación a la falta de proporción en algunas partes del cuerpo.
