The Last Supper was the last meal Jesus shared with his Twelve Apostles before his death. This moment has been subject of many paintings, including one of the most fascinating works by Leonardo da Vinci. This 15th century mural painting is located inside the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan.

Leonardo’s Last Supper is probably Italy’s most famous painting. It is also one of Italy’s most visited works of art. This work of art is 4,6 meters height x 8,8 meters wide. Leonardo began working in this painting on 1495 and finished painting on 1498.

As you can see this work covers the back wall of the dining hall of the church. This means that monks used to eat under this wonderful peace of art.
