As every year on September 16 we celebrate our independence day but this year is very special… this year is our 200th birthday. We celebrated along friends in a Mexican Restaurant in Turin, Italy.

Espacio Escultórico (spanish for Sculptural Space) is a huge area in the middle of Universidad Nacional Autonoma de México‘s Cultural Center. Here, huge sculptures were built on the 1970’s. The work of ‘Espacio Escultorico’ that stands out most is formed by a series of white sculptures around a volcanic crater in the area.

On January 2008 I had the opportunity to visit this amazing natural location called “Basalt Prisms in Huasca de Ocampo, Hidalgo, México”. Basalt Prisms are geometric columns decorating the vast “Santa María Regla’s” Gorge. This gorge’s walls also are covered with 4 water falls.
